One day? my mother and I went shopping at a Chinese supermarket. We found that the cruciaa carps in the seafood counter were very fresh, as a result we chose four crucian carps and handed them over to the seller. As it would take some time to clean the fish and dispose of their internal organs, we decided to look around the other places first. When we came back to the seafood counter, I asked the seller for my fish. He raised one, which was being cleaned, to let me have a look and tell me he was still working on the fish. I hurriedly said, "Go ahead. Go ahead." I meant for him to go on.
Unexpectedly, the seller stopped his work, looking at me with puzzled expression, and asked me in reply, "Go ahead?" "Yes," I said. "go ahead." He pointed the fish in all seriousness, and repeated very seriously', "Head?" Paying no more attention to him, I turned back to chat with my mother. Suddenly, "Bang, bang, bang", was heard from the counter. Promptly, the sc)let passed the four fish without heads to me.
I asked loudly, "Why did you cut all the heads off?" The scller was also. very annoyed and said, "Didn't you tell me to go ahead again and again?" On hearing what he said I felt funny as well as angry. It turned out that he considered "go ahead" as "cut the head off" No wonder he asked me several times about it! Taking the headless fish home, I became imcreasingly frightened. Wouldn't it be possible that the hairdresser would have cut my head off if I had gone to get my haircut?

一天，我和妈妈去一家华人超市购物，我们发现海鲜柜台的鲫鱼很新鲜，于是我们选了四条递给卖鱼的师傅。因为洗鱼、处理内脏要花些时间，我们便决定先到其他地方逛逛。等回到海鲜柜台，我向那师傅要鱼，他举起一条正在清洗的鱼让我看了看，意思是他还在洗呢，我赶紧说: “Go ahead．Go ahead."(继续吧，继续吧。)意思是让他继续。
不料，那位师傅却停了下来，很迷惑地看着我，反问道: “Go ahead?”我说: “Yes，go ahead．”他一本正经地指指鱼，很认真地重复了一遍: “Head?”我没再理他，就转过身和妈妈闲聊起来。突然只听见柜台里传出“砰、砰、砰”的声音，卖鱼师傅随即递给我四条没头的鱼。
我大声地问；“为什么把鱼头给剁掉了?”那师傅也很恼火地说: “你不是一再说‘go ahead’嘛?”我听了真是又好气又好笑。原来他把"go ahead"理解成“把头剁掉”，难怪他问了我好几遍呢!
拿着没头的鱼回家，越想越害怕，要是去理发，理发师傅岂不是把我的脑袋砍了?
