College Students Have Too Many Classes

How many classes should be properly scheduled for college students? It may sound unsurprising that no one has a totally clear idea how many classes a college student should have. But as we have observed, an increasing number of classes have scheduled for college students, which has become a controversial topic that brings about heated discussions in the society. That is, whether is good for college students to have too many classes or not? In my perspective, the disadvantages of college students’ having too many classes overweigh its advantages.
Having too many classes in college, to some extent, is a kind of inheritance to exam-oriented education in that it costs college students too much time in the classroom, as a result of which college students will have less time to learn what they are really interested in. A true university should be a free palace for the students to develop their interests but not a place that confines them to a fixed classroom to take too many classes. In this way, it is not beneficial for college students to get an integrated development for students will have so much homework to do that they will have less time to read extracurricular books they like in the libraries which is called the soul of a college and therefore, the students will have less access to enrich their mind.
On the other hand, having too many classes requires college students to spend most part of their time in the classroom, which will result in their less time taking part in outdoor activities or social practice which plays an important role in developing interpersonal relationship and improving one’s personal skills. As we know, unlike high school students any more, it is of importance for college students to actively take part in some outdoor activities or social practice for it is just a matter of time for them to step into society. So, they should prepare for their future. However, there is same time left beside sleeping and eating. By the same token, there is no more time left besides college students’ having too many classes which costs them a majority of time. Considering in this perspective, I think it is not good for college students to have too many classes.
Furthermore, having too many classes will contribute to college students’ poor physical quality for that they are seated in the classroom most of the time. It is common knowledge that a good body is our asset and wealth is nothing without health, from which we can know the importance of having a good body. But college students are required to sit in the classroom to have too many classes. Also, there is a lot of homework for them to do. So how much free time is left for them to excise themselves? What’s more? Always worried about homework, college students may become tired, which is also not beneficial for their health.
Above all, it is obvious that college students’ having too many classes is a kind of inheritance to exam-oriented education and will result in their less time taking part in outdoor activities or social practice to develop their personal competence and will contribute to college students’ poor physical quality. Thus, it is not good for college students to have too many classes.
