Lighthouse Family 常被翻译成“灯塔一家”，听来遥远而又温暖。第一次听他们的歌是那首最负盛名的“High”，当时觉得歌名绝好，因为住在灯塔上的人当然是在高处的。这支90年代末英国的最佳乐队之一，始终坚持着自己独特的音乐视角，他们的音乐浸透着感人的真诚和哲理般的理性光辉。
成员之一的Paul Tucker在Newcastle从事音乐工作多年，之后他卖掉了所有的乐器，开始学习法语和德语课程。毕业以后，他选择在一家酒吧工作，并为自己保留多年的一首“Ocean Drive” 寻找歌手。经人推荐，他结识了拥有会计文凭、也在酒吧工作的Tunde Baiyewu, 于是这个欧、非风格兼具的乐队就这样诞生了。1995年，“Ocean Drive”得以发行，但成绩不佳。此后的第二首单曲 襆ifted?进入了英国榜前五甲。2001年11月发行的专辑 “Whatever Gets You Through”获得了巨大的成功，它在保持原有风格的同时，作了少许改变。该专辑目前在英国的销量已达到两百万，在美国也深受好评。
