"oh, that comes from over the hill yonder, sir, where there are a few dead horses," i replied. however, i scraped a hole for him somewhere else, and while moving the blanket i discovered the body of a black, buried just below the surface, which my master had exposed by twisting and turning about in his sleeplessness.
