英文标识笑话百出 趣解WC
这边“××路”译成“××lu”，那边“××路”译成“××road”，混乱的英文标识经常令老外“蒙查查”。
记者昨日从广州市质监局获悉，广东首部《公共场所双语标识英文译法规范》(征求意见稿)即将出台，并于7月起实施，路名地名今后将有地道统一的英文名字。如厕所不再叫“w.c”，统一译为“toilet”。
英文标识笑话百出
广州的英语标识混乱，为人诟病已久。广州市质监局介绍，广东省目前尚未有全省统一的公共场所标志英文译法。目前不少公共场所双语标识的译法存在问题，有些英文译法与中文原意相去甚远。“中式英语标牌”、简单语法的错误，会让国际游客感到困惑，损害广东现代、开放的国际形象。
有关人士介绍，广州大部分的英语标识主要存在两个问题：一是英语用词不合适，前后不一致；二是很多英语标识仍然用的是“汉字打造法”，白云国际机场此前就被媒体曝光出英文标识的问题，如这边的“停车楼”被翻译为“parkinggarage”，而就在相隔不到20米的另一指示牌上，同样是“停车楼”，却被翻译为“carparkbuilding”。在机场出发大厅，“前行30米”的标识直接翻译成了“goahead30m”，按惯用方法，ahead后面不会跟名词，令外国乘客十分别扭，甚至有点搞笑，其实最简单而直接的表述应该是“30mahead”。
