bachelor party就是在男生结束单身生活之前，他的好友会为他举办的一场party，让他正式告别单身生活。对应地，weddingshower，也称为bridal shower，指的则是女子婚前派对，是为即将结婚的女性举行的聚会。类似的表达还有baby showero BabyShower是美国的一项传统，是为即将生产的妈妈举办的”送礼聚会”，一方面向准妈妈表示祝贺，一方面也对准父母在经济上给予支持，一般在预产期前四到八周举办。送养育婴儿的必胥品是聚会的核心内容o为了客人买礼物方便，在组织聚会时，主人会事先通知客人送礼的“主题。例如，指定不同客人买适合婴儿在不同季节的用品，叫做季节送礼会”(Seasonal Shower)，如果要求所有客人都送一包尿片，就叫做H尿片送礼会“《DiaperShower)。主题完全根据需要设计，没有一定之规。
