汤姆早晨有起不来床的毛病
Tom had this problem of getting up late in the morning and was always late for work. His boss was mad at him and threatened to fire him if he didn't do something about it. So Tom went to his doctor, doctor gave him some pill and told him to take it before he went to bed. Tom slept well, and in fact, beat alarmed in the morning. He had leisurely breakfast and drove cheerfully to work.
"Boss", he said, "The pill actually worked!"
"That's all fine" said boss, "But where were you yesterday?"
汤姆早晨有起不来床的毛病，老是上班迟到。老板对他很生气，警告说，要这事儿再不改善就辞掉他。
汤姆就去找医生，医生给了他些药，还告他在睡前吃。
汤姆睡得挺好，说实在的，早上闹钟没响就起来了。他不慌不忙吃过早饭，满心欢喜地开着车去上班。（beat alarmed 应该是beat the alarm）
“老板，”他说，“那药还真管用哎！”
“那就好，”老板说，“可昨天你人在哪儿呢？”
