Lisa, my coworker at the bus company, needed to send a letter of apology to a customer whose trip was a complete fiasco（n. 惨败） from start to finish. I reminded her of a similar situation a year earlier, and dug out the letter I had written then.
我在公共汽车公司的同事Lisa，有一次需要给一位整个行程一团糟的顾客寄一封道歉信。我提醒她一年前我遭遇过类似情形，并翻出我那时写的道歉信，告诉她：
“ All you have to do," I told her," is changing the details, the date and the name." She looked it over and smiled wryly." We do not need to change the name."
“你所要做的就是修改一下细节，日期和姓名。” 她看完信，苦笑道：“连名字都不用改”。
