金发美女

问: How do you amuse a blonde for hours? (怎样可以为金发女郎提供消遣、让她自娱自乐？)
答: Write 'Please turn over' on both sides of a piece of paper. （只要在一张纸的两边都写上 “翻到纸的另一面”就行了。）
问: How do you confuse a blonde? （怎样能把金发女郎搞得一头雾水？）
答:Put them in a round room and tell them to sit in the corner. （你只要把她们放在一个圆形的屋子里，然后让她们找一个角落坐下就行了。）
问: how does a blonde try to kill a bird? （金发女怎样来杀一只鸟？）
答: she throws it off a cliff! （她将她扔下悬崖。）
在美国，有一个笑话的分类叫做blonde Joke. blonde 在英语作为名词常指那些金色头发的人，尤直金发女郎。以上的笑话大家估计看出来一个共同点，那就是把blonde说成像个傻子，弱智。对了，没错，美国人总觉得金发女郎一般都不聪明，dumb (愚蠢），air-headed (脑子里全是空气，指的也是愚笨的意思），是经常用来形容blonde的。和我们中文里的“胸大无脑”有几分相似。所以我们就有了以下的这个笑话：
问: What do smart blondes and UFO's have in common? （聪明的金发女们与不明飞行物有什么共同点？）
答: You always hear about them but never see them. （你从来都只是听说过它们（她们），但却从来没有见过。）
美国的媒体也是经常这样渲染金发美女的。看过“legally blond（律政俏佳人)”的就会知道在美国人看来，一个金发美女进哈佛念书就是件不可思议的事情。
而美国人的另外一种流行观点是深褐色头发的女人都是比较聪明的。这种头发颜色的女人的英文说法是brunette。所以我们又有了以下的笑话：
问: What do you call it when a blonde dies her hair brunette? （你管那些把头发染成棕褐色的金发女郎叫做什么？）
答: Artificial intelligence. （人工智能）
大家应该有不少人看过AI这部电影，译名就是“人工智能”。但是artificial 除了人工的意思之外，还有另外一个意思，那就是虚假的。这个笑话所蕴含的文化点就是金头发女郎很蠢，染成了深褐色头发，虚假智能了一回，因为深褐色头发的女孩子是聪明的。
金发女郎除了有愚笨的名声之外，还有性感，甚至是放荡（slutty)。下面有一个小小的黄色笑话，如果大家不理解就算了，有点少儿不宜。
Q. What did the blondes right leg say to the left leg? (一个金发女的左腿会对她的右腿说什么？）
A. Nothing, they haven't met! （什么都没说，因为它们还没见过面呢）。
尽管如此，美国男士还是对金发美女充满了幻想。现在在美国很火的希尔顿酒店老板的女儿Paris Hilton又以她自己的实际行动印证了人们对于blonds的成见。
你可能还听说过另外一个以头发颜色来形容女孩子的词语叫做“red-head (红发女郎）”。提到红发女郎，美国人眼中的形象就是脸上长了不少雀斑(freckles)，皮肤苍白(pale)，脾气不好(hot-tempered)，而且通常比较独立，有主见。大家有没有想到谁？对了，《欲望都市》中的超级女强人Miranda就是一个红发女郎。
在《绝望主妇》中超级会持家的Bree也是一个红发女。
而在《欲望都市》中，那个聪明的，有修养的，在画廊工作的，超有品位的Charlotte就是一个brunett。
美国媒体在迎合大众成见、偏见上一点都不含糊，不加以制止，反而是火上浇油。
有时候美国人在形容女孩子们的时候会根据她们的头发颜色而加以区别。如果你问某个老美他们在谈论哪个女孩子的时候，他们的回答很有可能是：“We are talking about that blonde..or that brunette, or that red-head.” 但是由于亚洲女孩子一般这几类都算不上，所以对我们的统称就是“that Asian girl.”。
美国人还有关于警察的stereotype:
在美国，有个有趣的说法：警察喜欢吃donuts(炸的，甜甜的面包圈）。在美国有一部由美国黑人男星Samuel Jackson主演的电影《Shaft》中有这样一幕。影片中的警察Shaft问一个小弟弟，为什么他想做警察。还没等他回答，镜头就推向了放在他旁边的donuts上，于是答案不言而喻。
