Stan Stoat and Willie Weasel make a Boat

阅读 :

Stan Stoat and Willie Weasel were making a sailing boat. “Just think of the fun we can have, sailing down the river on hot summer days,” said Willie Weasel.

“We want everyone to see it, so it must be a bright color,” said Stan. They both agreed they would be certain to catch Percy Perch and his friends, the Tiddlers Three. Stan and Willie jumped and down at the very thought of it.

At last came the great launching day. Down to the river they carried the boat. “Don't forget the oars!” Willie said. The launching was perfect, and they rowed to the middle of the river. They sat for hours, waiting to catch a fish.

Percy Perch and his friends, the Tiddlers Three, came swimming down the river. How they laughed when they saw Stan and Willie!

“They are hoping to catch us, but we will play a trick on them,” said Percy. Putting his nose under their boat, Percy spun it around like a top. Round and round it spun, until poor Stan and Willie were quite dizzy.

CRASH! BANG! SPLASH! They both landed in the river, with the boat on top of them. Percy and the Tiddlers Three danced up and down in the water with glee. Swimming down the river, they shouted together: “Can't catch us!”

Stan and Willie swam to the bank, pulling their boat after them. “As sure as there is fur on my tail, we will catch them one day!” said Stan Stoat, and Willie Weasel agreed.
